LITTLE HEARTS,
BIG FEELINGS:
Child and Family Counseling
WHO I AM
Hi, I'm Stephanie! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with children ages birth-5 and their families. I have extensive experience in counseling children struggling with anxiety, selective mutism, separation anxiety, anger management, impulse control, attention regulation, developmental delays and disabilities, trauma, family conflict, and more.
My goal is to help children learn social-emotional skills needed to be happy, confident, and successful while empowering parents to feel more confident in meeting their child's needs. Navigating big emotions and challenging behaviors can be a challenge and put a strain on individuals and families. I am here to support you and to work together to create long-term positive change for your child and your family.

MY SERVICES
My approach is relationship- and strengths-based. I utilize aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Play Therapy while providing an individualized approach tailored to your child and family dynamic.
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING
Individual counseling provided to children is play based and involves working through a range of big emotions and behaviors, learning to engage in mindfulness practices, and utilizing and generalizing the use of social-emotional skills needed to be confident, happy, and successful.
Individualized counseling provided to parents serves as a means of offering support to parents as they seek to better support their child, as well as facilitating generalization of skills that their child is practicing in counseling.
GROUP COUNSELING
Social-emotional skills group counseling for children facilitates learning and practicing of skills such as recognizing social cues, understanding and respecting personal boundaries, working through negative emotions of frustration, disappointment, anger, and anxiety, and expressing wants and needs in a positive and effective manner.
Parenting skills group counseling is tailored to the needs of a small group of parents seeking the support of others on the same journey toward understanding their child's development, learning strategies to support their children through big emotions and challenging behaviors, and exploring positive and supportive parenting practices.
FAMILY COUNSELING
Family counseling can help families improve communication and navigate conflict in a positive and effective manner, as a better understanding of the family dynamics is achieved and familial relationships are strengthened. Family counseling includes caregivers, children, and any other family members that are part of the "core" family unit.
